I was born and raised in a little village in Germany, close to Frankfurt/Main in an area called 'The Golden Ground'.
Having worked in advertising and publishing for several years I changed my career path to a more artistic direction and obtained a degree in Glass Design after three years at one of the rare specialist glass design schools in Germany. With Picture Framing being an additional part of my training I became head of a picture framers and gallery for ten years, during this time I became a member of a Designer's Guild, being inspired by the unlimited possibilities of the materials developed by the Guild.
My connection to Ireland goes back to the early eighties and I always loved being here, consequently I moved to Co. Galway in 2003 to make Ireland my permanent home. I opened my own picture framing studio at Tarrea Pier in 2005. Over the following years working with glass moved centre stage again and I had my lovely glass studio built in 2008 and extended in 2016.
I feel privileged to live in such a beautiful spot of the world; the landscape is a constant inspiration to me. It is wonderful to be able to share that place with creative people and to pass on the skills of glass design.
